Politicon Writing Competition winners awarded

On 22 December 2025, Topchubashov Center hosted a meeting with the winners of the Politicon Writing Competition.

Within the framework of the competition, a large number of articles were submitted to Politicon. Among these submissions, articles that stood out for their quality and content were published on the website, and four of them were selected as winners of the competition.

The evaluation process was conducted based on the following three main criteria:

• Originality of ideas and uniqueness of the writing

• Clarity of arguments and their logical coherence

• Reliance of the research on credible sources

The winners of the competition were the following authors and articles:

1st place: Maharram Akbarov — “Neo-Metternich or Richelieu? Syria’s Place in the Middle East

2nd place: Inja Aliyeva — “The European Union's Approach to Arctic Indigenous Communities

3rd place: Anvar Ismayilli — Clashing visions: the global contest of competing geopolitical projects

4th place: Gulay Karimli — Piri Rəis və onun sirli xəritəsi
